MEGAN JONES MEDFORD- Creative Movement, Jazz, Tap

Megan received a BA in Dance Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with a licensure to teach K-12 dance. She received additional training at Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Martha Graham School, and American Dance Festival.

She just moved back to Asheville from New York City where she taught on faculty at All Star Studios and Broadway Dance Center's Children and Teen Program. She was also working as a freelance dancer with LiNK! the movement and Periapsis Music and Dance. She has done soloist work with The Asheville Ballet and recording artists Lijie and G. Finale. Additional performance credits include: Summer Stage, Dance at Lincoln Center, American Dance Guild Festival, Symphony Space's Music of Now Marathon, NACHMO! Grand Finale, New York Moves, The Showcase Series presented by :pushing progress, Queens New Music Festival, Synthesis Dance & Friends, In-Sight Suite Summer Festival, Carnival, Choreographers Canvas, and Stage 6 to name a few. 

Megan has former students performing on Broadway (Kinky Boots, Motown the Musical, and Matilda). Her students have continued to pursue dance by attending the School of American Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School, Appalachian State University, Elon University, University of NC at Chapel Hill, North Carolina School of the Arts, and the NYC Frank Sinatra School of the Arts. Megan taught with Move This World (Dance For Peace), an organization that integrates a non-bullying program into the New York City public schools through movement and dance. Her choreography has won several awards at local and national dance competitions.
